Arran Coastal Way Interpretation

Copper, steel and oak are combined in this 3D interpretation marker for the Arran Coastal Way. We were involved in the creation of this with the oak and copper elements being done by craftsmen on the island. We produced the stainless steel plate illustrating the coastline and the tactile rubbing discs on the corners.

The artwork for the base plate was exact in size for the coppersmith to attach his sculpture to it and then the plate had to fit into a space left for the wood carver. We used marine grade (316) stainless steel for the interpretation plate and discs.

As part of the project we will be producing more tactile discs for the wayfinders which are currently in the studio for artwork and illustration ... nearly there but just may need a couple of more site visits!
